How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple, so you cancel them on your iPhone:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap your name, then Subscriptions.
  3. Tap Mona, then Cancel Subscription.

Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid the next charge. You keep your plan until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription.

For a refund, ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can’t issue App Store refunds ourselves.

How do I restore my purchases?

Your subscription belongs to the Apple Account that bought it, so on a new iPhone or after reinstalling:

  1. Make sure you’re signed in to the App Store with the same Apple Account.
  2. Open Mona and go to the You tab.
  3. Tap Restore purchases.

There’s also a Restore purchases link at the bottom of the plans screen. Mona has no accounts, so there’s nothing else to sign in to.

How do I delete my data?

On your phone: delete a script or take in the app to remove it, or delete the app to remove everything Mona stored on your iPhone. Copies in your iPhone backup follow your backup settings.

On our server: we keep short records linked to a random install ID, never your scripts or recordings. To have them deleted, before you delete the app:

  1. Open Settings in Mona, then Help & about → Diagnostics.
  2. Tap the share button and choose Send diagnostics.
  3. Email the file to privacy@filmwithmona.com and ask us to delete your data. The file contains your install ID.

We’ll confirm when it’s done. A one-tap delete option inside the app is on its way. The Privacy Policy has the details.

Recordings kept on our side: in Mona, open Settings → Voice tracking and tap Delete my recordings. It removes every recording kept on our side, for good, and tells you how many there were.

Which languages and iPhones?

Mona is in English, and script writing works best in English. You can set the speech recogniser to another language in Settings, but the writing and feedback aren’t tuned for it yet. If you’d like Mona in your language, tell us at hello@filmwithmona.com. It helps us decide what comes next.

Any iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Mona is made for iPhone and isn’t available for iPad, Mac or Android. Cinematic mode needs an iPhone that supports it, with iOS 26.

On iOS 26, speech recognition runs on your phone. On earlier versions, Apple’s speech service may process the audio instead.

What happens to my rambles?

Your phone turns what you say into text. The recording of your voice stays on your phone and is never uploaded by Mona.

When you ask Mona to make a script, the text of your ramble is sent to our server and on to OpenAI, which writes the script. The script comes back to your phone and is saved in your library. Our server doesn’t keep your words or the script. More in the Privacy Policy.
